GPS sync problem

I have an ePMP 1000 running 2.3.4 and gps firmware AXN_1.51_2838.

Main Software
Software Version (Active Bank)

Software Version (Inactive Bank)

Firmware Version

U-Boot 9350_PX 1.1.4.a (Oct 31 2013 - 19:28:30)

 

Monitor GPS screen shows

Internal GPS Latitude 43.70026 degrees
Internal GPS Longitude -083.47245 degrees
Internal GPS Height 206.5 meters
GPS time (Greenwich Mean Time) 17:16:24
GPS Firmware Version AXN_1.51_2838
Satellites Tracked 11
Satellites Visible 12
 
Yet, my device shows on the home screen
Sync Source Status Internal
and I cannot select GPS for a sync source in the configuration.
What do I look for ?

Hello,

Which Downlink/Uplink frame ratio is the radio configured with? GPS Sync is only available with fixed frame ratios (75/25, 50/50, 30/70). It won't be available if the selected Downlink/Uplink frame ratio is Flexible.

The configuration tells me that it is set to 75/25.

Could you please attach a screenshot of the  Configuration->Radio page of that radio? I would help me verify that your current configuration should allow GPS Sync.

Hello, 

Can you also please tell us if this radio was purchased as a stand alone radio or if it was purchased as part of the Force 110 PTP package?

My understanding is it was purchased as part of a force 110.

Hi, 

If the radio was purchased as part of the Force 110 PTP package, then GPS sync capabilities are disabled. This is the reason why the Force 110 package is at a lower price point than buying the GPS radio as a standalone radio. 

We will be providing a mechansim to purchase a license to enable GPS Sync capabilities in the future. 

For now, you will still see the radio track satellites and provide coordinates but you will not be able to sync with other radios.
