Guest Access with https not working

Hello,

I have issues with HTTPS Redirection mode on Guest Access Section.

I obtained a browser error (connection refused)

https://192.168.1.50:444/2/login.html?ga_ap_mac=XX-XX-XX-XX-XX-XX&...

telnet 192.168.1.50 444 command also fails ..

Any suggestion? The system works fine with HTTP Redirection mode.

Thanks.

Hi,

I tried the same with our radio and I am able to access and telnet it.

Note: By default the telnet is disabled and once you enable the same it should work.
Enable Telnet access to the device CLI under Configuration: System > Management parameters.

Please send us an email to support@cambiumnetworks.com in case you need any further assistance.

You sure about that port number?  HTTPS normally listens on port 443.

@Hardik - the syntax "telnet 192.168.1.50 444" connects to that IP address on port 444 - it does NOT require/expect telnet service to be running.  Normally you can use a telnet client as a network diagnostic: for instance telnet to a mail server on port 25 and you can interactively talk to the SMTP service, diagnosing communication problems.  Same for most other non-encrypted service ports.  (encrypted comms like HTTPS you can still determine whether the port responds, but not actually retrieve documents or anything)

Hi,

I checked the https option, but I will have to check regarding the port 444 and the syntax "telnet 192.168.1.50 444".

I will have a check and I will provide an update.

Hi,

You have to enable connection mode as HTTPS on the guest access configuration. By default HTTP mode is enabled. Clients using HTTP/HTTPS both will get redirected but to the protocol which has been configured on the guest access configuration.

Hi Kunal,

Thanks for your help.

No .. I have selected HTTPS option .. and with this option, I obtained a connection refused message on my browser.

The port 444/tcp continues disabled ..

443/tcp for web admin .. works fine.

Thanks.

Hi,

I am trying to recreate the issue on this 2.0 B46 version which you are running but it might be a good idea if you can upgrade to 3.0 release image which is there on cambium support site.

Best Regards,

Kunal

Hi,

It seems the 3.0 firmware had resolved this issue. Please let me know if you have any other issues.

Best Regards,

Kunal
