Answer: The PTP 650 will not operate correctly if a direct cabled copper connection is made between two power injectors’ LAN ports. The limitation is due to the loss in the multiple drop cables and multiple lightning protectors (LPU’s).
Where two or more links are deployed in a chain, use one of the following solutions:
- Copper or fiber connections between the power injector and a suitable Ethernet switch or router.
- A fiber connection between two ODU’s with the ‘Ethernet Media Type to Use’ control set to ‘Fiber Media Only’. An optical SFP module must be purchased from Cambium to add this fiber interface to the ODU.
