Initiating a software upgrade, why do I receive "Unpack failed - damaged or wrong package format"

There are two reasons why "Unpack failed - damaged or wrong package format" may be displayed when attempting a radio software release upgrade:

  1. The newly-loaded software package is the same version of the software currently in use on the device
  2. The software packages have been unpacked prior to uploading to the device.  Software upgrade packages uploaded to the radio should always be in the format [radio type]-[software version].tar.gz.  For example, to upgrade to software release 2.4.3 via the device web interface, upload either ePMP-NonGPS_Synced-v2.4.3.tar.gz or ePMP-NonGPS_Synced-v2.4.3.tar.gz depending on device type.
