layer 2

some of my 900 aps have a mac address listed here and some don’t wondering if anyone can tell me what it is and if its a problem if i se something there

mac address listed where? need more info

I’m guessing it’s the “layer two neighbours” tab in newer firmware?

those will only show up if your network is bridged, doesn’t have anything with ap’s ability to perform just fine. any ap’s behind a router will not come up on other ap’s neighbor list

Running a bridged network here, and I have never seen anything populate the Layer 2 Neighbors tab - SM or AP.

On every AP on my network I can see the list of others running AP.
Anyway I had to change the "Multicast Destination Address" to "broadcast" on the APs when I replaced my switch with a Cisco 2924, since the default "LLDP Multicast" option was not working anymore.
Probably Cisco switch filters LLDP traffic...
