Hi,
I am wondering why the user interface of the PMP-450i limits setting the transmit power in the 5.4 Ghz band to an effective EIRP of just 27 dBm instead of the 30 dBm permitted in Australia.
In detail, the gain of the integrated antenna is 9 dBm and the user interface limits that maximum TX power to 18 dBm instead of 21 dBm.
Regards
Markus
Is it that the maximum EIRP is also dependent on the bandwidth? I have one source that says that the maximum transmit power is 250 mW for 5 Mhz bandwidth, 500 mW for 10 Mhz and 1000 mW for any bandwidth bigger than that.
I can’t speak for PMP450i, but I do know that for PTP670 we use the ETSI spec for 5.4GHz in Australia, which has a 17 dBm/MHz EIRP density restriction leading to the following EIRP limits:
| Channel Bandwidth |
EIRP Limit |
| 5 MHz |
24 dBm |
| 10 MHz |
27 dBm |
| 15 MHz |
29 dBm |
| 20 MHz |
30 dBm |
