my advise is to use mesh as a last resort, its better to connect an AP back to back with a cpe that acts as a receiver. in that case you get the full performance of the AP.

thats good advice. Mesh is useful for a quick and easy range extension, but in general, especially for outdoor installations using some of the products specifically designed for such type of backhaul is always recommended.
The outdoor APs like E500 also have a PoE-out capability on their second ethernet port to allow easy setup and powering up of a ePMP Subscriber Module for backhauling.
