Multiple Re-reg

Hi

I have a 2.4 Canopy system that consists of 1 AP and 3 SM’s that I use to extend our network between 3 buildings. Lately I have seen 1 of the SM’s droping off the network about once a week for around 15 or 20 minutes at a time. When it comes back I can see it has made multiple registration attempts.

Luid 002 is the problem site, luid 003 never has a problem so I assume it is not a AP problem or it would affect all SM’S. luid 003 sometimes reregs but never drops off line for more than a few seconds where 002 goes away bor 15 or 20 at a time.

I am never at the remote site when this happens so I cannot tell what is going on there, anyone have any ideas what to look for. I am assuming it is some other signal that interfears with the canopy but as this only happens about once a week I do not know what to look for.

Any Ideas ??

Try using the Spectrum Analyer at the SM, it may show you some interference. Does the office in question have any other 2.4 GHz equipment in it ?? e.g. Cordelss phones. 802.11 b/g wireless networking gear ?? Are there other offecs in the same area that may have similar equiment ??

What does the event log of the sm say ?

Nothing new in the SM log since I set the time on 3/24/05. The system time and date are correct so the log is accurate.

The other 2 SM’s have the same thing in the logs and the AP has no entrys since 3/24 either.

The Spectrum Anylizer shows very low sig levels (with the AP shut down). I have never been on site to see what happens while the SM is doing the mutliple reboots.

Whatever it is it only happens about once a week, I am trying to keep a log to see if there is a patern to it.
