In Wyoming, I have a near line of site setup where the Force110 was the perfect winner. From the roof of a three story building to a 25 foot tower. There is a slight hill in the path, making direct line of site impossible without a much taller tower at the far end.
My original setup was an Engenius EOR7550 with 21DB gain antenna on the 5.8 Ghz radio in 20 MHZ mode, The link is non-line of site and a little over 4 miles Best throughput possible was 11 Mbs and varied to as low as 1.5 Mbs, with a complete link failure at least once a month.
I replaced this link with a Force110. I first noted a how rugged the unit was in comparison to many other similarly priced products. I configured the link before going up the tower in ePTP mode set at 20 Mhz. . Upon successful linkup in its final location, I saw an immediate change to 54 Mbs speed, the link has been up for over 120 days without any signal dropouts. Installation could have been easier as there was no signal monitoring until the system had a usable, connected link. This is being looked at by Cambium Networks now.
The speed change has made a significant difference, the Force110 is very well built, providing good lightning protection, nice external cooling and easy mounting procedures. This is a solid solution against the lower priced competitors.
