network upgraded to 13.4 and problems raised

Hi,

recently as per customer support I upgraded SM and AP to 13.4 on PMP450 network and I'm receiving complains from customers.

The main problem I see now is stucked sessions: a CPE keeps REGISTERING for ever, other don't register or take ages.

This is the AP logging for a SM which keeps registering all the time

09/21/2015 : 18:04:01 CAT : Event: SES_MSG, MsgType: PAREQ, NewState: IN SESSION, Flag 0

If I go to tools -> sessions and disconnect the session (it says is idle), then it may reconnect (or not) after few minutes.

I have also problems with some SMs which the AP drops because out of range: if the range in the AP is set to 4 miles, these SM "are" at 4.025 miles, if I put the AP to 6 miles, the SM "are" at 6.025 and so on.. The SM really is at 2 miles.

Antonio

PS. Good thing is I noticed an overall performance increased. The AP has 90 SMs a peak traffic of 50 Mbit/s and ~9000 pps.

Hi,

By next week we will have open beta 13.4.1 which will fix this issue.

Thanks,

Hi

OK but please provide the solution as soon as possible. I have upgraded all the network to 13.4 as per cambium customer support in order to figure where the distance calculation problem is.

Now I have random customers being disconnected and can't reconnect. I have moved the premium customers (business mainly) from ubiquity to pmp450 in order to provide more speed and better service......

Best regards

Antonio

Hi Antonio,

We're working as fast as possible. As Chitrang indicated, we hope to have a 13.4.1 beta release out with this fix next week.

Thanks,

Sriram

Is there any workaround or hack I can do meanwhile?

I answer myself.. the workaround seems to reboot the AP...

What band radios is this happening on?

For the record, I have seen the exact same problem on the 3.6 450, and only the 3.6 450, on 13.2 and 13.2.1, but it is rare. Same thing, SMs fail to register and are reported as out-of-range. The only thing that fixes it is a reboot of the AP(s).

It's happening on 5 ghz and  AP and SM were 13.2.1 at I got the max.distance issue. Now everything on 13.4 and different problem: SM getting stucked on Registering...

Hi Cambium: any news on 13.4.1 ? Will it fix the "registering" or ranging issue?

Regards

Antonio

Hi Roan,

Yes it will be posted as open beta this week.

the  work around that i was given was to downgrade the affected ap's to 13.3

Hi

I noticed that rebooting the AP not fully fixes the issue.

I have also downgraded AP to 13.3 but there was still several SM which connected/disconnected continuously. Finally visited the SM and downgraded the SM to 13.3 and now seems OK.

Please provide urgently a solution for this. I would also know if there is a list or document which provides the "human readable" cause of the errors.

Best regards

Antonio

Hi,

thank you. I'll proceed immediately

Where should I apply the update? to the AP ? SM ? both? (I can't upgrade the AP until late evening)

Regards

Antonio

Hi, You must apply update on both AP and SM to work smoothly. Please do update when both AP and SM are available together.
