Cambium sent me a sector and a couple of CPEs to test out a few months ago. I haven't had any issues with this gear. I'm a 3 year old WISP who has only deployed UBNT gear. I have an area I'm building out and its going to be exclusively ePMP gear. UBNT gear has worked OK I guess....I don't know any better. I'm looking forward to seeing how Cambium compares.
Welcome to the forums Arnie! I think you'll find your journey with ePMP to be rewarding. I'd take some time reading through the documentation along with posts in the forum, and as always, make sure your firmware is up to date. If you have questions or comments, you can always find people in the forum to help out. Good luck with your deployment!
Hi Arnie!
welcome to the community.
there are some great comparison stories here between the UBNT and cambium lines. setup correctly, the epmp line is a wonderful product, we've made the change and will never look back!
Let us know how it goes...
I'm working on my 3rd EPMP tower buildout and so far so good.
I still have all of my other UBNT towers, I just can't see ripping them out and replacing all of the CPE's yet so we are pretty mixed...
It will be interesting to see how the EPMP 2ghz line works out as I still put up UBNT 2ghz at all of our towers.
Thanks,
Ryo

we've been ripping down all of our UBNT 2.4 ghz gear and replacing it with cambium.
on average, we've experinced atleast 2x increase in downlink performance, speed complaints have ended, we are getting much better signal stability and performance reliablity at weaker powers.
gamers used to complain about lag and lag spikes, all of that has stopped.
the money we are not spending on truck rolls to deal with small issues are quickly paying for the equipment change. not to mention the extra capacity gives us more to sell.
What are you averaging per AP?
I've found that 10 on 2ghz UBNT and about 30 on a 5ghz UBNT is about the max before I start seeing performance hits.
Do you have a before and after test / screenshot?
Is that utilizing the same frequencies that the UBNT were using?
I'm going to try some shields on some more 2ghz that we are going to put up and see if that helps me being able to reutilize the 2ghz bands better.

Hey Marco, it sounds like you have quite a lot going on and that you're not very familiar with how fixed wireless works. I'd recommend that you take some time reading through posts in the forum, and documentation first. Buy a small sample of test equipment and play with it in the lab setting. Then once you've successfully completed basic connectivity in the lab and have a feel for how it works, try a small, one sector field test. Once you've completed that, I think you'd be ready for more complex scenarios and a larger deployment. If you don't want to do all this, you could try to hire a consultant in your area or possibly a forum. Good Luck!
