Where are you checking the syncing from? The AP or the CMM itself?
In my experience the CMM takes sometime to get the satellites so you need to wait a bit.
Also sometimes checking the sync status on the AP only can mislead you if the AP webauto update is set to 0. You need to refresh the browser all the time if set so.
The other cause can be the cable between the CMM and GPS antenna. Check the connectors as well as the new CMM2 has BNC connector while the antenna has N-type connector. In our case we had to make a small pigtail (N to BNC) so we could hook the LMR-400 to the GPS antenna. So these bits and pieces add to more points of failures.
We have never had an issue with CMM so far (fingers crossed)
