PMP105 suscriber in PMP120AP. Can be upgraded to connect?

We got 2 PMP105SM suscribers instead 2 PMP120SM to conect to PMP120AP access point.
Can it work with a firmware upgrade or we need to change hardware instead?

Rafael,

We are not aware of an PMP 105SM. There is a PMP 105 AP. (Micro-Pop AP) A PMP 110 SM or a PMP 120 SM should be able to connect to a PMP 120 AP without an issue.

Thankyou for your answer Corey

May be I was not so clear.
We are connecting 2401SM suscrivers to PMP120AP’s, but having problems to connect 2460SM upgraded (former LITE SM) to the same AP’s.
Is there some incompatibility or we fail to configure the 2460SM’s correctly?

Rafael,

Great question.

I should have been clear as well. A LITE SM (in your case 2460SM), can only register to what we call an Advantage AP. (in your case, PMP 130 AP) If you have a “Classic” AP (PMP 120 AP), LITE SMs will not be able to register to it.

Also keep in mind PMP 100 Series radios operate in both AES encryption (e.g. 2401 SM) and DES encryption (e.g. 2400 SM). As long as Encryption is not enabled, an AES radio can talk to a DES radio. Once you enable encryption, and lets say your AP is AES, then only AES SMs will be able to talk to the AES AP.
