Point 2 point using BH-10-DES

Dear all,

I’ve a problem connecting motorola canopy BH-10-DES, i’ve read the manual carefully, but it’s still give nothing at all. I’ve set both side to in the same elevation but still no improve. mean while the distance between my tower is 5 miles. My question is, Is it posible to connect using BH-10-DES device in this case?

thx.

Yes, BH-10-DES means Backhaul 10 Mbps with DES Encryption, the max distance for BH with Reflector is 56 km so for 5 miles (8 km) should be no problem. What freq that you used? is LOS between both tower?

Dear mrdlnf,

yes, it is LOS beteween each tower. I’m using a 2.4 Ghz as our first bacbone, and right now having a planning to change to 5.8 Ghz using motorola. Is it need a special divice to connect each other? or should it register the SM first at other?

thx

--> SM???? for what?

If you have LOS between both towers, then the first you must do is connect the BHs in your lab/office first.
n then put your BHs at your tower n try to align both BHs to get good link. according datasheet BH 2.4 can reach 5 miles without reflector but my experience (in my environment) is very hard to get that. you can try put reflector at one side.

hopefully can help you

Do you have a reflector on both ends?
What is the frequency selected for both sides?
What is the color code?
What is the max distance?
Have you done a spectrum analysis on both ends to identify any potential interference?
