HI Guys,
Not really sure exactly how to read this, but I’ve got a 5.7Ghz 20mb
BH link that’s been flawless for at least 2-years. Suddenly it went down.
In checking it, the re-regs were over 1500. I ran a link test and it shows
this:
Stats for LUID: 2 Test Duration: 2
Downlink RATE: 1665024 bps
Uplink RATE: 3201024 bps
Downlink Efficiency: 23 Percent
Max Downlink Index: 100
Actual Downlink Index: 23
Expected Frag Count: 6504
Actual Frag Count: 27200
Uplink Efficiency: 41 Percent
Expected Frag Count: 12504
Actual Frag Count: 30324
Now, this was taken from the Master. Because of the link being down, I can’t
get to the slave end (obviously).
Short of flipping a coin, can someone give me a suggestion as to which side
might be the trouble?
Here’s the log from the Master:

I updated all of my BH links to 7.07 earlier this month. I’ve checked the
alignment and the reflectors haven’t moved. I do have a complete spare set
but I have to use my boom truck on either end…
I assume one of the units has failed. But which one?
Any thoughts before I shot-gun it?
Thanks!
Dan
Well, I was just able to view the log from the slave end and it appears that
side may be the problem side. The problem started at the end of last week
and whadda ya know? The log entries START on the 21st…

What’s that fatal error?
Interesting. I’m not sure what the Fatal Error is. I had a similar situation. I had a BH20 link that has been running good for two years, started failing a month ago. Then two weeks ago the slave was gone.
Went to site for a look last week. The power supply was fried. Must have took a bump and slowly died. Replaced it, radio powers up good but no sync. Replaced the radio (I took a lot of gear up the tower with me just in case). No sync. Put original radio back in. Went to other end of link (our shop) and replaced BHM. BING!! New network.
I have the duff radio on my desk right now. Haven’t checked it out. Maybe I will right now.

It ended up being the Master on the other end. It’s been raining heavily so the repair will have to wait…
