So we’ve got quite a few customers now on our system and it’s working fairly well…but we’ve got one guy that is in an area that is known for brownouts and such. His SM will randomly go down and he says he’s power cycling it but it won’t come back up. The second I reboot the AP it brings him up instantly everytime.
Anyone else have any experience with this? We’re going to try putting in a battery backup for each of the customers but why wouldn’t the SM come back up…it would lock itself into scanning mode I’m assuming. Why? Shouldn’t it re-establish a connection? How come the instant I reboot the AP it comes up but otherwise it’ll scan forever (14+ hours this weekend)
What version of software are you running? (4.2.3, 6.1, 7.3.6)
What version of boards (P7 -P8 - P9) are the radios?
What freqs? (900, 2.4, 5.7)
Coiuld be a firmware issue…
What if he power cycles the SM?

:)
I think this is a bad ground. Try work without ground
Try another power supply for the SM. I have had them go partially bad and cause odd problems

Software Version: 7.2.9
Frequency: 900mhz
We're using the 17dBi yagi + connectorized SM's
I'll try another power supply though, just weird~
I would look at rolling up to 7.3.6, I seemed to have a similar problem, in that the SM would take a very long time to register, though mine would eventually register. Things seem to preform better at 7.3.6…
Hows your noise floor? Too much noise seemed to part of my problem.
have you tried changing the SM…
