Prizm Subnetting Question

We are a new user of Prizm/BAM, we have been able to define a network and poll the network for AP, CMM and SM’ units.

We decided to set up our AP Clusters as follows:

AP Cluster 1

AP 1 -> 10.1.1.1
AP 2 -> 10.1.2.1
AP 3 -> 10.1.3.1
AP 4 -> 10.1.4.1
AP 5 -> 10.1.5.1
AP 6 -> 10.1.6.1

AP Cluster 2

AP 1 -> 10.2.1.1
AP 2 -> 10.2.2.1
AP 3 -> 10.2.3.1
AP 4 -> 10.2.4.1
AP 5 -> 10.2.5.1
AP 6 -> 10.2.6.1

And so on for each cluster. The 2nd octet defines the AP Cluster, the 3rd octet is the AP, the 4 octet starts at .1 for the AP and would increment from 2 to 201 (assuming 200 SM’s per AP).

So for instance SM’s on AP 10.1.1.1 would be numbered 10.1.1.2, 10.1.1.3 and so on.

Our understanding is that the SM can get its management IP from Prizm, or we can program it into the SM manually. We would prefer it be auto assigned by Prizm. So far we don’t see a way to get Prizm to assign the IP’s as we have laid them out as above.

Is this possible? We are pretty new at Prizm and any pointers/suggestions are welcome.

Thanks in advance!

The subnetting capability of PrizmEMS lets you define IP Ranges to assign, based on the IP address of the Server, not the AP.

Which means that at this time, the scheme that you have selected cannot be automatically applied by PrizmEMS.
