PTP 450 now supported in LINKPlanner

LINKPlanner Release V4.2.0 was just posted. The main feature of this release is the addition of PTP 450 in both 5GHz and 3GHz.

There are a couple new PMP features as well:

  • For PMP 450 we have added high level throughput to the AP Performance Summary (in effect this gives the same level of information as the Sector Throughput Calculator in the PMP 450 Capacity Planner, although note that the results are not identical between the two methods as the Capacity Planner has a backoff in it to account for not using the antenna pattern, which isn’t used in LINKPlanner).
  • Added the ability to change the SM Height globally across the project – this is in project properties, next to where you set the model to ITU or VB. This will allow users to more quickly change the SM height, if they are emulating what may happen on a heat map (e.g. if they have put down a random set of subscribers and want to see the effect of a generic SM height).

Also in this release are a number of bug fixes and requested changes for PTP 820 – see the release note on the support website for more details.
