PTP 820 Multiple VLAN additions for the data service

PTP 820 Multiple VLAN additions for the data service

Summary:

The PTP 820 link will work as a bridge network for the data service (PIPE service); however, we can add multiple VLANs in the PTP 820 data service. How to configure the data service (PIPE service) with multiple VLAN?

Cause:

If we require to send multiple VLAN on the PTP 820 link.

Solution:

The document explains, on how to add the multiple VLAN in the PIPE service?

We require to add the Ethernet port and the radio ports under the service points. The service point type should be Service Access Point (SAP) for the Ethernet interface and Service Network Point (SNP) for the Radio interface. Once it is configured, we can attach VLANs to the ethernet interface.

The procedure for configuration of Services in PIPE:

  1. We have to add the PIPE service on Ethernet >> Services >>Add.
  2. Enter the service ID as 1 (by default) and the Type as P2P.
  3. Enter the EVC ID as Ethernet and description as Ethernet.
  4. Select the service ID configured and click on the service point.
  5. Add the Service points Ethernet port and the radio port.
  6. For Ethernet port, select the predefined options as the option-3 SAP, Bundle-C.
  7. Select the interface location as the Ethernet Slot 1 port 1.
  8. For the radio port, select the predefined options as the option-7 SNP, s-tag.
  9. Select the interface location as the radio Slot 2 port 1 and the S-Vlan. (eg: s-VLAN-10)
  10. Select the Ethernet service point and click on Attached VLAN.
  11. Click on ADD to add the VLANs on the C-VLAN encapsulation.

In this scenarios you can use in-band management or out of band management.
