PTP650 configuration with PTP-SYNC without GPS

Hi

I had got a problem with this solution. When I use  PTP-SYNC without GPS antenna with PTP650, they reveal that didn't had any connectivity occur.

So, could you please advise me? How to config PTP-SYNC without GPS antenna to compatible with PTP650.

I am not sure if I understand the question.  What are you using for your timing source if not GPS?   I assume your using PTP-Sync because you have multiple PTP650 links.

Are you using a sync source of Internal? This would occur if you were using PTP-SYNC with no GPS antenna, but with PTP-SYNC configured with GPS as the sync source using Strict holdover.

What is maximum length to connect between ODU PTP650 to PTP sync, PTP sync to PIDU, PiDU to network equipment ?

The maximum cable length with PTP-SYNC and PTP 650 is:

  • No more than 2 m (6.5 ft) between the AC+DC Power Injector (the PIDU) and the PTP-SYNC
  • No more than 100 m (328 ft) between the network equipment and the ODU

Other than this there are no restrictions specifically on the distance from the ODU to the PTP-SYNC, or the distance from the PTP-SYNC to the network equipment.

A 1 m Ethernet cable is supplied with the PTP-SYNC.
