PTP820 820C, 820S and 820G Release 9.0 is available

To all,

We are happy to announce PTP820 Release 9.0 is available at:

https://support.cambiumnetworks.com/files/ptp820/

New features included in Release 9.0:

PTP820C and PTP820S

  • Advanced Frequency Reuse (AFR)
    • AFR enables operators to reduce the angular separation requirement between links at the same frequency channel and the same polarization from the currently required 90-120° range to angular separation as low as 10-40°. This enables operators to deploy an additional adjacent link at the same frequency spot, thereby simplifying network deployment.
  • SyncE with SSM/ESMC
    • PTP 820C and PTP 820S support SyncE for all interfaces, along with SSM/ESMC messages
  • Configurable ETSI/ANSI Mode
    • PTP 820C and PTP 820S users can change from the default (ETSI) mode to ANSI mode. Changing the ETSI/ANSI mode does not require unit reset.
  • Mate Management Access (IP Forwarding) for XPIC
    • For 4x4 MIMO and 2+2 XPIC configurations using an external switch operating in LAG mode, Mate Management Access enables users to manage both units via in-band management. When Mate Management Access is enabled, the two units exchange incoming management packets, ensuring that all management data is received by both units.
  • 1731 Connectivity Fault Management (CFM) Enhancements
    • Provides the following enhancements to PTP 820 Y.1731 fault management capabilities:
      • Explicit MIP – Adds a MIP-creation option on the MEG level. When Explicit MIP is selected, MIPs are created on the service points of the MEG when a lower-level MEP exists on the service point. This option is usually used when the operator’s domain is encompassed by another domain.
      • Primary VLAN – Enables users to configure, via the service point, a VLAN, S-VLAN, or C-VLAN for MEPs that reside on that service point. Each MEP inherits the same VLAN, C-VLAN, or S-VLAN configuration as the service point on which it resides
    • ATPC Override Timer with Unit Protection
    • Configurable FTP/SFTP Port
    • Egress CoS Statistics in Web EMS
    • Asymmetrical Maximum Profile

PTP820G

  • 1731 Connectivity Fault Management (CFM) Enhancements

Hello,

Kindly, What th letter C,S,G in PTP820 stands for?

Thanks

Ahmed, the PTP820S is a single core radio, the PTP820C is a dual core radio, and the PTP820G is a rack mounted hybrid radio (supports native Ethernet and TDM) that supports split mount and all-indoor architectures.
