I think it would be a good idea for MOTO to release part of the source code or API to allow us to develop/enhance the software for them, as the product is maturing and the demands of the users are increasing, MOTO are finding it difficult to keep up, however if they released the source code we could develop features, send the code in and MOTO can package/release it.

Best idea I’ve heard in a long time. Look how well Linux has flurished do to Open source.
However this isn’t a OS we’re talking about. It’s Moto’s own software. Releasing it to the world could open the door for other vendors to use the software in some manor, which in turn could greatly impact Moto’s place in the market.
Great idea, but I just don’t see it happening.
Just my opinion though.
Perhaps not the full source code, but maybe just an API.
