Seems like it would be cheap enough to run a second piece of cat5 to the reset port…

Yeah I always run the sync cable down into the shelter even if it is a BHS, so i can reset it if needed.

If you do this, please be sure to add an 8k resistor between pins 5 and 6 of the sync cable. See http://motorola.canopywireless.com/supp ... d=383&c=12

Another idea is to use a single CAT5 cable, and the connect each pair to the default pins in each AP’s RJ12. So you could default up to 4 AP’s that way with a single CAT5.

In theory, you wouldn’t need the 8k resistor if you did that…

To ckarify… Take a cat5 cable. Strip 4-5 feet of outer insulation off. Crimp one RJ12 on each pair, connecting the pair to pins 4 and 6. Then can then plug one into each of 4 radios.

At the bottom of the tower, you could then either do the same thing, or connect to a bunch of RJ12 jacks, or put a switch on each one, or something similar to short each par.

Is there a length limitation on the sync cable (ie same as ethernet)?

Yes its the same as the ethernet cable.

Thanks for the tip on the cmmmicro. We do not use the micro though.
