Replace ePMP 2000 with 3000

Yesterday I tried to replace ePMP 2000 with 3000. Of the total 45 connections, only 29 connect to me. I use the original sector and beamforming.
Has anyone had a similar problem?


The frequency used is 5705, the distance and the number of connections are set to the maximum.

Software: 4.4.3

I noticed that I do not see any information about the smart antenna on the epmp 3000?

You connected a 3000 to a 2000 Sector ? Was it a 3000L  or did you only use 2 of the 4 connectors ? But then.. if you used a 3000L how did you connect the beam forming antenna ?

What version of the firmware is on the 3000 and what version is on the SM's ? Are you sure the ones that didn't reconnect have the correct/same firmware on them ?  Or possibly they have more than 1 SSID on their list and they just went and connected to another sector ? 

3000L has 2 antenna connectors on top but doesn't have beamforming or anywhere to attach the beamforming antenna.

3000  has 4 antenna connectors on top and gps/beam steering below but I don't believe the firmware for 3000 supports beam steering yet (except maybe the new 4.5rc## beta firmware does ?)

Today I replaced the 2000 with the 3000 and am very disappointed with the performance.
SM upgraded everything to 4.4.3 and after that everyone connected.

My experiences:

  • By reducing output power, better client modulation is created
  • By reducing range, better performance
  • ePMP 3000 must be routed to MikroTik, a problem for other cambiums if all in the bridge

Hopefully the new version of the software will fix the issues so they can upgrade the cambiums to the new version.
