Set Configurations with a Templates

How do you set the configurations of your SM’s? Are there software packages other than Prizm that will allow you to use pre-configured templates? Which are the ones you like?

i use a shell script to do mine

I put together a PHP page that loaded up specific values for that particular radio, and then called the himom.cgi script to set all the values at once. It’s just an HTML form.

rjk, what do you call from the shell script? Are you using snmpset? Also, where do you get your IPs from? Do you maintain a list of all network element IPs and feed them to the script?

cvs, I’m assuming you’re talking about the himom.cgi script on the device. I’ll look into this to check out how to format the string properly. Are there any resources you’d recommend?

I just saved the frame sources for each config page and reconstructed one big, ugly form that set all of the parameters in one click, using PHP to scrape the MAC and submit it to BAM (haven’t gotten around to modding it for Prizm, yet), and set the IP to the next iteration in the current class C.

Use the source, Luke.

(I’ve always wanted to use that line…) 8)

curl, snmpget

I just use wget and one big ugly http://169.254.1.1/himom.cgi?etc,etcetc

It’s all one big http get. Haven’t done this with v8 yet though

I have started to work on a script like this a few times and never finished it. Usually cause I have to run off an do something else. Would you mind sharing what you wrote? If I make any changes I will send them back to you.

Ok, mattman72 and whoever else wants to see the carnage.

Here’s a link to what I use: http://www.ccaonline.com/canopy

Let me know if it’s helpful/useful, or just plain confusing.

Good luck!
