Shielding: ePMP GPS vs ePMP non-GPS?

Is there any functional difference in the shielding of an ePMP GPS connectorized radio and an ePMP non-GPS connectorized radio?

Thanks - Chris

This doesn't answer your question, but the synchronized units are VERY well shielded.  Bench testing a pair of them, the antenna ports need to be essentially touching to get a good link.

I've got a non-sync unit sitting next to me, I'll try a similar test with it tomorrow.

Here are the results of a not-terribly-scientific test I did today -

Two radios set to 20dBm output.  No antennas installed on the AP radios.  Synchronized AP on 5785 and non-synchronized AP on 5815.  The STA is a synchronized radio with only the feed horn from a force 110 attached, about 8' away from the APs.

Based on this, it would appear that the two radios have equivalent internal shielding.

Hi uberdome,

There is no functional difference in the internal shielding.

That's surprising.  The GPS units are so much heavier.
