Dears Specialists:
I am planing to change my AP from P8 to P10 because I have purchased P10 SMs.
What is going to happend with olders P8 SMs registered in this P8 AP?
Will they loose their conection? Aren´t they be able to use Hardware scheduling?
I know P8 AP does not support HW scheduling, then I supose SMs dont too.

Yes the P8 sm will do hardware mode you just use CNUT and the external addon tool to turn on hardware mode before you upgrade the firmware.
Please, tell me what I must do to switch my old SMs P8 to Hardware Scheduling!
They are all SM P8 5700 series.

Download CNUT 2.2 and the release notes and read them. It will tell you, but in nut shell.
1. In CNUT discover the SM.
2. refresh the SM to make sure CNUT is talking to them
3. select all SM’s to be changed
4. In CNUT select Tools/Configure Advantage scheduler/check selected network elements and ok.
5. In the pop up select either 7.2.9, or 7.3.6 software
6.apply config, hardware scheduling, propagate, active.
7. The screen should say it found elements if so
8. run now
It will set them to hardware mode and when they are finished they won’t link back up until the AP is switched to Hardware mode.
9. Upgrade software on SM’s to 8.1.5.1 to work with the P10 AP

It will be best to switch them to hardware scheduling using P9 AP. With that you can have the hardware and software scheduling at same time. Or put the P8 and P10 AP on the same tower so if some of the SMs don’t come back or for some reason don’t switch to software you can manage them.

cause i have many P8 SM can't work with P10
all that step can make P8 SM to become hardware mode
i will try it if your information is right,i think it's very good for me
all my P8 SM with became hardware mode n can communicated with AP which work by hardware mode

That is possible and I have done that to a lot of P8 SMs on my side. That is with the use of the External Tool that should be launched:
CNUTHwScheduler.jar

I don’t have this software because I am a new Canopy user trying some used equipment. I cannot seem to download this from the support site either? Are those two versions my only option? (I am running 7.3.6 now) I tried with CanopyRelease8151_DES but it tells me that it won’t support both hardware and software scheduling. Can someone send me the 7.3.6 if that is what I need, or tell me how to extract it from the SM I have.
7.3.6 with a p8 sm will work on a p10 ap.
P10 aps only support hardware scheduling.
p8 sms have to be put in hw scheduling with cnut
go to the moto download site and download cnut, the rest is pretty easy.

I had P10 ap with only 1 SM P8 and I had issues…
Y had to change that ap for a P9…

If it were me, I'd hang (temporarily) the P10 AP next to the P8 AP. Once you switch a P8 SM to HW mode, it won't associate with the P8 AP anymore. It will only associate with a HW switching AP such as the P10.
