We have a cluster of users who are set up off an AP that connects to another AP about a mile away. They aren’t motorola equipment, and are having alot of interference problems in the 2.4 range. So we have been out there to try and get a 900mhz WaveIp setup but that is the worst equipment ever invented and is nothing but problems. We have several canopy 900mhz SM’s laying around because we have a few canopy AP’s that we serve with.
Basically what I was wondering is can we somehow use two canopy 900SM’s point to point each other to get our bandwidth to our cluster AP? Or is that not in any war possible, I have poured over tens of pages of manuals trying to see if it was possible but never come up with a clear yes or no. Wouldn’t be much bandwidth, 1.5 up and down tops.

Two Canopy SMs can’t link to each other. SM registers and talks only with an AP. PTP with 1 SM and 1 AP is possible. Look at ‘Remote Access Point’ here http://canopywireless.com/support/libra … on=1&cat=7

Does your APs connects through backhauls?
