Software Ver. vs. HW/FPGA Ver.

Hey,

We have a client that is having some problems connection with a couple SMs. The only thing we we can find in common is the HW/FPGA Ver. We have updated the units to 8.2.4 but no change. Is the HW/FPGA Ver something that can be upgraded or no?

Thanks.

The FPGA version is only upgraded between different firmware versions, only certain ones do FPGA upgrades, you cannot do them manually or pick one you want.

Thanks for the info!
However, if I have three units, one at 8.2.1 two others at 8.2.2 both one 8.2.1 and one 8.2.2 have the same FPGA ver, the three unit 8.2.2 has a higher FPGA ver. Shouldn't all the FPGA versions be the same for the update version that they are at?

This is what I have:
SW | FPGA
8.2.2 100207
8.2.2 092707
7.2.9 070605
8.2.2 092707
8.2.2 100207
8.2.1 100207
8.2.1 092707
8.2.1 100207
8.2.2 100207
8.2.0 060407
8.2.2 092707
8.2.2 092707

are all the SM’s (i’m assuming) the same Hardware version?
Usually it depends on if they are P7,8,9,10 to which fpga version they use

Ah, ok, thanks for the explanation, very helpful!
