@RSElektronikkAS wow, that’s the highest capacity test I’ve seen posted for a Medusa AP. Must be a low noise environment. For the Uplink stuck at 1.0, if you have turned on Interference Cancellation on the AP, that disabled MU-MIMO on the uplink and groups all clients as 1. You may want to test out the AP with it off and see if you get an improvement on linktest.

Do you have to enable this?
No, you don’t have to enable this, but the AP and SM’s need to be running the 24.2 beta, and best results are seen while using 5ms frames and a 30 or 40MHz channel width while using 450b/i/v/m hardware. There are no performance gains for original PMP450 hardware.
I test without Interference Cancellation, then the downlink capacity goes down, but the total capacity is the same.
I wonder if you could be hitting the limit of what the hardware will support. Since it only have a 1Gb port, it may not be to reach much beyond 920mbps when generating traffic for the linktest. But at least you’ve confirmed what caused the Uplink grouping to be at 1.
Keep in mind that the deep vc queue optimization typically does not increase the PMP450m’s aggregate link test capacity. It only improves headline throughput on PMP450b/i/v SM’s when using 5ms frames/30/40MHz channel widths. You should focus your testing to individual SM’s.
50 days on and still loving it!
We will be testing this on our network, and just wondering if I should keep the older style 450(p11) on 24.1.1 or if it’s ok to have them on 24.2? Thanks
Any news on the stable release of 24.2?
Still squashing some difficult to catch SM bugs. There might be one more beta release before stable… but we’re getting really close to the final/stable build.
If older SMs (P11) are on 450i/450v or 450m APs, then you can upgrade them along with those APs. P11 450 SMs will continue to operate on current VC depth and will not show any improvement in throughput.
You can leave the legacy 450 AP sectors on current release you are running as there is no benefit of upgrading 450 AP. ( Deeper VC is not supported on that platform)
Great to hear thank you!
After upgrading to 24.2 Beta 4, capacity increased by 10% in DL/UL, It looks like UL has improved the most from about 130Mb/s to 190Mb/s nearly 50%
Some of you have tried this version with AP’s with legacy 450 too? (Mixen 450b + 450 legacy)?
I have afraid to worsen the performance of that devices
Can anyone with knowledge of the software release roadmap, comment on when 2x100MHz (or anything larger than 2x40) channel support will be available for the 450v?
Thanks.
As it was mentioned earlier in the thread, you can choose to upgrade or leave 450 AP sectors on current release you are running as there is no performance benefit of upgrading legacy 450 radios. (Deeper VC is not supported on that platform). There are no performance changes either way.
Thank you Eric!
My idea is upgrade only 450i and 450m sectors but many of that sactors have many 450 legacy SM and I wouldn’t want to worsen the throughput of that SM’s
