Temperature on 450b high gain SM Antenna

I was just going to make another thread and found this one. Have a device reporting 76/77c in the hottest part of the day, and when ambient temps come down 60f/15c, the SM is still reporting about 145f/62c. Could this be a heat sync failure on the unit?

The reason this has come up is this device is having wild RSSI fluctuations throughout the heat of the day. There is a radio a few feet away pointed to the same AP not experiencing these issues. Signal is at -62 normally, but has been observed dropping down to -85/-86 and disconnecting

Any suggestions? My primary one was to swap the 450b high gain for a new one and observe the difference. I actually have a friendly bet with the provider (Were a wholesale provider), that if he take off the radio to give it a shake. 10$ if the heat sync is rattling around.
