So, this sounds like Univastu has purchased the stuff which AirSpan hadn’t? They say “expansion into telecom wireless networking” or words to that effect.

Yikes! This doesn’t sound good. I would rather just have a cnMaestro on prem decoupled from the cloud, so I don’t have to deal with another owner. I just need a year tops so I can finish my migration to Aruba gear.

I wish MikroTik would instead Buy Cambium. But they wont. Their CEO is also an interesting character.. Meanwhile, Unifi is slurping market share for the vertical.
Not to talk shit, but this is the worst purchase / owner for Cambium assets - an India company that has zero interest in commercial aspect. Cambium Admin sell to whomever.

For all we know this is a software licensing deal. Unclear at this time what assets are involved. Could be all remaining assets, but we probably won’t know until next week.
Just hope this isn’t like the Radio Shack bankruptcy where they tried to sell all the customer data. EU data privacy laws probably wouldn’t allow that, but UK isn’t in the EU, are they?

I didn’t know if this was good or bad. Felt like it’s better than no bidder and the product just dead.
And from what I understood, one of the Board of Univastu was previously at Cambium for 5 years.
Hopefully this preserves ePMP as a WISP product line, and hopefully keeps the good parts of the ePMP staff and employees and development intact. But it is what it is - I guess we will see. 🤷

I just feel that if this goes through, the product(s) are still dead. We really think Univastu will carry the torch of cnMaestro for existing subscription holders and customers? They’re not go to market.

I assume most of us here are not lawyers and don’t have much if any M&A experience. I had to look up the meaning of “exclusivity” in this context, and it sounds like we need to give this some time to play out. Not a done deal yet. More like entering a period of mutual due diligence while putting all other bidders on hold.

Sounds like most of the due diligence would be the buyer asking for a lot of information from the seller. If they decide to walk away, they forfeit $300K. Probably a time limit like 30 or 45 days was set. Not a lot of due diligence needed from the RSM UK side, can the buyer come up with $5.1 million cash. I doubt they are weighing the interests of customers or employees, their duty is to make partial payment to secured creditors (BoA).
I am surprised nobody was willing to pay more than $5 million for the remaining assets. You’d think maybe Radisys would have been interested, some company already in the fixed wireless market that has their own sales force and distribution. Whoever takes over ePMP will need deep pockets to fund R&D until revenue can recover, the asset purchase price is just the beginning. Maybe Univastu thinks they can bring a strategy to target third world customers where something like Tarana is a non starter.

Not sure why I’m posting all this ePMP stuff, I’m mostly an Airspan customer now. Anyway the majority owner and CEO of Univastu posted this to his Linkedin profile:
Univastu India Limited has entered into an exclusivity arrangement with the Joint Administrators of Cambium Networks Ltd, appointed by RSM UK Restructuring Advisory LLP, and is advancing the proposed transaction through its wholly owned UK subsidiary.
The transaction has not yet been completed. It remains subject to completion of due diligence, finalisation and execution of definitive agreements, receipt of applicable approvals, and formal closing.
If the transaction is completed, Univastu’s priorities will include:
• Maintaining continuity for customers and channel partners
• Preserving critical technical knowledge and retaining experienced industry talent
• Supporting product development, technical assistance and after-sales services
• Stabilising manufacturing and global supply-chain arrangements
• Establishing a credible, long-term roadmap for the relevant products and platforms
• Communicating transparently with customers, distributors and other stakeholders
Univastu recognises that the wireless-networking business requires specialised leadership, deep technical expertise and strong global channel relationships. We do not intend to operate the business as an extension of our EPC activities.
