(very) slow upload when AP 450 or 450i with firmware > 15.1.5

Hi,

these are two screenshot of a customer streaming.
Customer has SM450, with firmware 15.2, first image is with AP450i firmware 15.1.5

This is how traffic appears all day. A very clean and stable upload.
Next image is the same customer when we upgrade the AP to 15.2 or, such in tchis case, 16.0-B7:

We find this issue before, upgrading our AP to 15.2, so we downgrade our 450 and 450i to 15.1.5 and leaved out 450m to 15.2 (or 16, now). Tonight (it's difficult for us to test this during the day) we tried with 16.0 beta, but it's the same. Traffic dropped.

This doesn't happen with 450m.

I have asked engineering to look into this.  They may contact you for additional information.

The enhanced interference mitigation alone would likely make it worth it, and the beamforming antenna can help a lot too (it really depends on the spread of your users). I've heard it also has higher PPS but that may not be true. The 450 and 450i stuff is good, but for 5 GHz LOS you likely won't see enough of the improvement to warrant the price.

Did you reply to the wrong thread or am I missing something?

NW_WISP,

There is one known issue with 450i AP that was fixed in 15.2.1. From the 15.2.1 Release Notes:
PMP 450i/PMP 450b
CPY-15083
Resolved issue where Management and Data traffic through AP is impacted when it receives frames greater than 1700 bytes.

But that only affected 450i AP (not 450 AP). Because of this issue, I recommend either 15.1.5 or 15.2.1. But I'm not sure if your network has any of these packets hitting the AP or not.

Thanks for trying the 16.0 Beta. Did you say you put 16.0 Beta-7 on the 450i AP and are still experiencing issues? We will have to investigate more.

Charlie

Hi Charlie,

I can test with 15.2.1, but I confirm the low traffic you see in the graphic above is from 16.0B7.

Thank you

I can confirm we have the same problem with 15.2.1:

Hi, any news on this? We have ~80 450/450i stuck on 15.1.5 and we'll need to upgrade them to have the same version for all our 450.
We don't know what are we supposed to do:
Medusa need 16.0 to have upload mu-mimo, but with 16 on 450/450i we have this orrible problem.

Thank you
