View wireless clients unable to connect to the AP

While the AP dashboard and cnMaestro client view dashboard display information on all the clients that have successfully connected to the AP, there are cases where a client might have tried to connect, but failed. One way to track such clients is by going through the AP logs, however cnPilot access points make it easier by tracking these clients and building a table of why they failed to connect and when.

Typical reasons for a client to fail to connect could be:

  • Denied access by a MAC Association ACL
  • Failed authentication to a RADIUS server due to invalid credentials
  • Failed the protocol handshake of WPA2-Pre-shared keys
