Each CMM contains a GPS receiver that ensures that all AP modules at all AP clusters are synchronized. The net effect is that all Canopy SM units, system wide, transmit virtually contention free with respect to all other Canopy units.
Another benefit provided by GPS is that it supplies system time and date information automatically to all AP's and SM's.
