Hi, This is to allow support of legacy WiFi devices you have already deployed and help with migration from those devices to ePMP. With WiFi mode support on the SM, you can swap out the SMs /CPEs/Stations on an existing 80211 network to an ePMP SM. And once you have swapped out all the SMs, swap out the AP to an ePMP AP and switch the entire sector to TDD mode for much better performance, scalability and reliability.
