What would cause an SM to be able to uprade in CNUT..

It seems like at least 5 out every 50 sm’s on a particular AP will not upgrade to the 8.1.5 and/or the 7.3.6 before this when using CNUT.

I have a handful of SM’s that have good signal, jitter, snmp, and all settings are correct but for some reason will not upgrade…any ideas?

Thanks,

Phil

There seems to be a few different messages/errors…

Message: Unable to communicate with Network Element (Possibly Connect/Login)

Message: Error Connecting to device via telnet interface!!

These seem 2 be the two recurring themes.

Are you using Direct Upgrade (via IP), or SM Autoupdate (via AP) ?

auto update through AP

Can CNUT upgrade the AP directly? In Autoupdate mode, CNUT will provide the images to the AP, and the AP will upgrade all the SMs connected to it.

So, the following messages are related to CNUT connecting to the AP.

Message: Unable to communicate with Network Element (Possibly Connect/Login)
Message: Error Connecting to device via telnet interface!!

Can you manually connect to the device via telnet?
