Your Jitter is to high.

Umm… ok… this is a 900mhz link. I’m not able to get the jitter down below that.

Here is another:

I am using 7.3.6 would upgrading the firmware make any difference?

Looks like a possible interference issue to me.

Looks like Walmart. I just turned the AP into a SM and the spectrum is showing -68 to -71 from 900 all the way to 924

My tower is about 1 mile away from Walmart.

In 1X you need to keep the jitter below 5.
I believe the most common reason for high jitter is interence.
Since you are showing AP stats I am going to assume the jitter is near your AP. You should run a couple link test to try and confirm this. post results.

You could try changing your frequency and see if it helps. re-run link tests.

Also are you using hardware or software scheduling? hardware is recomended in most cases.

What does your noise floor look like?

I have also seen misaligned antennas create these symptoms.

  1. Would I be better to run 2X?

    2. I am using Hardware Scheduling.

    3.

Stay with 1X as it’s more robust.

You’ll need to locate the source of interference ASAP. Anything else is just flailing at the problem.

I agree, thats interference.
I have had one link with 99% link test, but interference in the same frec made it drop every 5 min…

Try another frec.

So the interference has gone at least for the moment. I still have two SM’s that are "idle"

When I access them through the AP they come back up - it appears they are dropping because of inactivity.

Any workaround for this?

That seems a little strange. I do not believe we have ever had an SM drop out to inactivity.

Have you tried running the sprectrum analysis at the SM sites that are having trouble?

Anybody know if the power setting is 28dbm or 26 dbm. It allows a 28dbm but does it actually put out that much power?

I have SMs go idle all the time. I get no support calls so I assume it’s normal behavior. If you can still get to the SM through the AP then it’s registered.

If you think the interference is gone, then try rebooting the AP and watch the sessions and re-reg counts. If they keep climbing on those SM’s then there may be something to look for such as a tree in the fresnel zone, cordless phone, etc.

FIXED IT!!!

Now everyone is going to call me crazy but…

Somebody made the comment my jitter is too high for Hardware timing… so… I switched to Software.

Wada. My links are all stable. Even my -80 links with 11-14 jitter have NO re-regs.

I’ll take the lesser throughput and higher latency for stability any day.
