2018 State of the WISP Industry Survey Sponsored by Cambium Networks

Cambium Networks, a world leader in providing wireless broadband solutions, is creating a 2018 global State of the Wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP) Market Survey. The survey focuses on the state of the current business and vision of trends and opportunities. We encourage you to take the survey and have your voice included in the results.

The survey is available below, and the purpose is to understand the current network size, offerings, challenges, and best practices. There are no questions about specific vendors or products. The survey can be completed anonymously, and at the end is an optional area where you can provide your contact information if you would like a free copy of the results.

Need a comment section on what we need/want to see from cambium.

We cannot continue to get 2x2 radios with less than 100meg capacity to survive against the carriers. Higher b/hz, higher mumimo, higher modulation modes, higher noise rejection. These things matter and must be expounded upon or the wisp market will shrink and in 1-2 years cambium will not have a large client base anymore. We cannot wait 1-2 years for the next best thing that’s already 1+ years too late. You announce mmw which is great but does no one any good q4 2019. You wait for wave2 and finally get close to releasing it and competitors are already talking about AX (sorry WiFi-6). If we can’t stay ahead we all lose. I say all of this with love as a “fanboy” and someone that is a full cambium Shop and preaches to everyone of all the great things cambium does. Being super late to the game ultimately forces your potential customers or loyal customers to search for what they need to survive and you can ask most large wisps that they get to the point they can’t turn back if they are super committed to ubnt or mimosa.

Matt, Sakid, anyone else with cambium, feel free to reach out to me. Your customers will tell you what they need to succeed. We are all in this together!

Preach on,

We have unfortuantly had to leave after 15 years of being a Moto / Cambium exclusive shop.  All new deployments have been Telrad's LTE platform.  Though I hate Telrad as a company, (I have known them since they where breezecom) their product meets my needs today.  I needed Cambiums LTE solution a year ago, not the middle or end of next year, if I am lucky.

The nice thing about cnRanger is that it will adhear to LTE standards, and you should be able to retain your investment in UE's and use them with the cnRanger BSU/RRU. A great use case would be to migrate to a cnRanger 8x8 solution when you need more capacity and retain all your UE's.
