If you are running a 3 GHz PMP 450 (including PMP 450i and PMP 450m) platform that uses the CBRS service for spectrum access, please be assured that nothing about your service changes with the announcement today.
In a separate press release that was published today, Airspan announced that it has acquired the fixed wireless portfolio from Cambium Networks, including the 3 GHz PMP 450 line and the CBRS domain proxy service that supports it.
More than 100,000 PMP 450 radios depend on this service today, many of them carrying operations that cannot tolerate downtime. Continuity and reliability are where we are putting our attention first.
I’m sending more information directly to the billing contacts we have on file for CBRS domain proxy customers and will reach out there if and when further steps are needed.
Airspan was not interested in purchasing the enterprise and ePMP segments of the business. Cambium is still trying to find a buyer for those segments. If a buyer is not found soon, those segments will be liquidated.
@Bruce_Collins please let us know if something was already sent as your post implied. We did not see any emails to myself or our business contact, but we will continue to keep an eye out. Thank you for your help during this transition period. I’m glad to hear we have until at least the end of October to figure things out!
Sorry if this question has already been asked, but is there any way to export the database for PMP 450i and PMP 450M APs and SMs from cnMaestro Cloud and import it into cnMaestro On-Premises?
Under the CBRS section, you can click on each AP, enable visibility of all of the columns, then export the page to a .xslx file. You have to do this for each AP. This can the be re-imported into the on-prem version. I had some trouble with the .xslx file and had to open the import template .xslx in Numbers, copy the AP and SM rows from the downloaded export file into the spreadsheet, then re-export from Numbers to .xslx. I didn’t bother tracking down the issue since I had a workaround. When you import, you’ll need your CPI .p12 file and password, and make note of your sector reuse IDs.
Bruce, we have not seen any emails to our CBRS billing contact, either from Cambium or Airspan. Can you confirm that something was sent out, and how we can request a resend?
Note that we also have not received any status updates from Federated Wireless other than an email saying they were aware of the situation.
Hi Mark, Ken and any others interested. I’ll get this letter out to you by tomorrow but essentially the situation is the same as it was from the post above. The CBRS service for 3 GHz will continue to operate with both Federated Wireless and Google as SAS providers with billing for the October invoice coming from Cambium systems. More info to come about any actions that need to be taken for the November cycle where we expect billing to come from Airspan systems. Regards, Bruce
