450 link max MTU 1682?

Hi,

we have quite a few 450m radios with 450i and 450b SM-s mixed. We have tested recently and found that the max MTU that can pass the link is 1682 (and not 1700 as it should be)

We are using 16.0.1 mainly on the radios, and using the SMs in bridge mode.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I have forwarded this to support.

Engineering is looking into this and will report findings here.

The maximum Ethernet frame size supported by PMP 450m/450i/450b series is 1700 Bytes.
You are right. The max MTU supported is 1682 bytes(1700 - 18 bytes of Ethernet header).

Hi Balaji,
OK, I understand. Still it is a bit odd that product specs say max MTU is 1700…

Also, ePMP radios can do 1700byte MTU (not only 1682)

Is it planned to raise the MTU on the 450 platform to 1700?

Peter

Hi Peter,

I'll create a feature request to increase the MTU to 1700 bytes.

It will be supported in a future release.

Thanks,

Balaji

Hi guys

Any update on this request

Kind regards
