High all, I have a 4500 AP with 31 AC subs and I am passing 67-70 mbps on a 20 mhz channel and I am at 86% frame usage. We just had a 3000AP with same subs and when using 60-70 mbps through AP i was around 60%. Any help would be great!
Start converting top talkers to e4k SM’s ASAP and make a plan to convert the whole sector to e4k SM’s soon. I believe there are some interference-based performance degradation issues that happen over a relatively short period of time when e4k AP’s are being used in mixed legacy/AX mode. Rebooting the AP/SM’s nightly or converting all the clients to AX are the only solutions ATM.
Thanks Eric, appreciate the suggestions. Yes, main plan is to migrate SMs to e4k, I did reboot the AP and SMs but it did not resolve anything.
Forgot to mention that I have another site, 4500 AP, 51 SM, mix of AC and AX, more AX then AC and not seeing this issue, link tests are good.
Can you change to 40MHz channel width? Are you used flexible or fixed timing?
I can try 40 mhz, using fixed 75/25
So I put it to 40mhz and of course link tests score very high on each SM per their RSSI and SNR, so is there something up with the 20mhz? I have to wait for peak hour to really see whats up.
Keep checking it… and if performance starts to degrade, try rebooting AP/SM’s and see if performance is restored.
Hi Eric, doesnt seem to make a difference, 40mhz gives a bit more wiggle room but the link scores are still not great. I guess I need to start swapping in 4525, start with loud talkers as you suggested, and go from there. The strange thing is the performance degradation, we worked with Chinmay and put up a 4500 with 40 e3k subs and it worked fantastic and we actually saw gains. This was over a year or two ago, cant remember what firmware we were on.
Hi @DigitalMan2020,
Could you reset statistics, execute 20 sec WLT and attach to your suppor ticket techsupport files From AP and 2-3 SMs with Spectrum Analyzer enabled?
