referring to the video for installing 450b:
is there an alternative for using linktechs dongle, like I plug cable from 450b radio to my wi-fi router?
In the video, the Linktechs dongle serves two purposes: 1- power up the radio, 2- gives a way to connect to the radio from a mobile device to verify signal.
The same can be done using an ethernet cable of appropriate length, connected to the proper POE for the radio, then connect the LAN side of the POE to a laptop on the same IP scope as the SM you are trying to aim. You could also connect the cable to a wireless router set up as a bridge, then connect wirelessly to the router with your phone/tablet and aim the SM using the GUI or cnArcher application.
