I have installed 4 of the 4625 so far and half of them have not had the AFC provisioned. One was fixed remotely by Cambium support and I am waiting on the other that was installed today to be fixed.
I have boxes more of these SMs and want to know how many have broken AFC. Is there a way to tell via SN or by SSH on if they will work or not before I install them? Is there some special fix FW or script I can run to fix the broken ones without having to wait for Cambium support to contact me back so they can remote into the device and fix it?
IIRC, Cambium was supposed to add automatic AFC cert provisioning in recent versions of cnMaestro cloud. Have you tried connecting an SM to the cloud and updating to firmware revision 5.9?
I highly doubt it… BUT… only very early radios typically lack the AFC cert. Going forward with new inventory, you should rarely run into radios missing it.
Well I just installed a radio from stock that I bought from ISP supplies two to three weeks ago and the first one I grabbed out of the box had broken AFC so I wonder how long it will take before I can buy some that aren’t broken?
I’m sorry for that! It really depends on how frequently your local dealer stock is renewed. I did not hear about provisioning from our support system for a pretty long time. Which means it goes pretty smooth now.
It is a consequence of being one of the first vendors to deliver AFC functionality for the customers.
We have automated fix in cloud Maestro now. And we are always glad to sort it in a remote session format. Unfortunately we can not implement it in on-premises Maestro due to security considerations.
