5.2 & 5.7 cluster

Hi you all,

This man not be the smartest question arround, but does any one know if it is ok to co-locate on the same tower/cluster 5.2 AP’s running HWS (still waiting for the upgrade to advantage from MOTO) with 5.7 Advantage ap’s?
The 5.7 will be reciving a lot of Lite SM’s…unfortunatly there are not 5.3 lit SM’s available…

5.2 is far enough away from 5.7 that you should not have any self-interference issues.

Is there a BH on this same tower?

on 3 different towers were are running a 360 degrees of 900MHZ and about 20’ above it we are using 360 degrees of 5.2. All working beautifully.

So one should not have a Non-Advantage AP running H/W scheduling mingling with an Advantage running H/W Scheduling in the same frequency? What about disabling 2X mode on the advantage unit?

You can colocate radios of different frequencies and different operational modes (HW vs SW, Adv 2x/1x vs Canopy Classic) without issue.

Just be sure that if you have any other Canopy gear that operates in the SAME band to have them at least 100' seperated, as this is what Moto specs in the Canopy Bible.

I have a tower with 5.7 gear and 2400 and 5200 BH's with no problems at all.

I also have towers with 900 AP's and 5700 and 2400 BH's, no problems

And finally, towers with 5200 AP's and 5700 and 2400BH's

Simple. :)

Be sure you are running sync on your radios, but then again, you knew that.
=P
