5.7 channel assignment logic

Using 160mzh channels. It seem the radio doesn’t block out channels that you can’t use like other models do. ie, if selecting a channel that overlaps the blocked out region. The radio lets you choose it. But, then gives an error… The channel just shouldn’t be in the list if it’s not allowed.

Its driven by EIRP. So, you are not going to see channels completely not be there but have lower EIRP. Rare cases you may see channels that don’t show up at all but highly unlikely. So, yes, you can have channels that overlap different EIRP levels.

That isn’t what I’m saying…

There is 100mhz that is blocked from use in the middle of the band… I should not even see channels in the list that let me fall in to that block…

Instead, the radio is letting me choose that channel, then tells me I can’t use it… Wouldn’t it be easier to just remove those channels from the list in the first place when using a given sized channel?? Similar to edge of band on the other Cambium products…

Thanks, Tristan.
We will clean it up in the next firmware release.

Thanks.

Makes sense now. So, what we have done is make the whole swatch available and let AFC control it between US and Canada. So, you are basically trying to set the Canada frequency which we can prevent or not show. As Fedor mentioned, we will make this improvement in the next release.
