6 GHz limited range and poor uplink connectivity

I appreciate irony.

There’s a big difference between not manually changing the transmit power on a radio because you disagree with the manufacturers interpretation of FCC rules and intentionally entering false information into the radio to circumvent software limitations that the radio manufacturer put in place to comply with FCC rules.

There are no circumstances where more than 36db EIRP is allowed in 6ghz unlicensed, so there’s really no room for interpretation there. There are circumstances where it is allowed in 5ghz, and it’s plausible to argue that a CPE radio meets the requirements.

The proper way to address regulations that you believe are counter-productive is to advocate for changing them, not ignoring them or interpreting them in your favor

In a forum where I can’t respond, my critics use my open advocacy for changing EIRP limits as a way to smear me, claiming that I am encouraging my customers to operate illegally. I’ve learned to be grateful when that happens because WISPs aren’t stupid. Everyone sees what’s really going on.

I agree, and nobody has a problem with anyone advocating for changing EIRP limits (I’m may not agree that specific proposals are a good idea, but if you think you can convince the FCC, go for it), or using it as a way to smear you. You know very well what that post was referring to, and I never claimed you were doing anything, I just noted that I suspected something based on public comments.

When pretty much the entire industry has been openly interpreting the 5ghz rules that way for years, and the FCC has never made any attempt to correct it, it’s hardly the same thing as ignoring a rule because I don’t like it.

And yes, everyone does see what’s really going on.

According to FCC Part 15 Subpart E (Section 15.407), standard-power access points and client devices operating between 5.925–6.875 GHz are limited to 23 dBm/MHz PSD and 36 dBm e.i.r.p., with a 21 dBm elevation cap above 30 degrees for outdoor use.

I don’t think my detractors have a problem with my advocacy, I think they just take cheap shots to make themselves feel better. Typical bullying behavior.

I have to agree with you here. This guy is kind of becoming a running joke, but after seeing his posts here and personal replies in another thread…yeah this attitude is alarming.
I’m inclined to buy any other brand but his after reading all this marketing bro-nonsense and tinfoil hat conspiracies.
Get a hobby.
