if somebody who is familiar with canopy firmware could tell what are osportucos_ii.c and sockintf.c I can try to understand what condition causes the error...

I imagine you have already, but if not- contact canopy tech support on that one. There might be someone that has seen that and I hope so, but I have never seen those errors before. Have you tried reverting to your previous version to see if that problem is then gone. (that’s what I would try/ have had to do in the past). Then you have the problem of wondering if there’s merit to Canopy’s advise of NOT flashing back.

Anyhow, do you have others doing this, or just this one?

Thank you LP, I have a tcket (M-228440) on that one.. still no answer. I guess I have to do the downgrade manually with ftp because CNUT does not allow it anymore.

Hi warian
why coudn't you downgrade using CNUT?
I simply loaded both packages (8.1.5.1 and 8.2.1) on CNUT.
Then, I can temporarely disable 8.2.1 (on packages mangement), so I can downgrade smoothly from 8.2.1 to 8.1.5.1.

Let me know if you can't

Ciao
Massimo

Having the exact same problems on over 200 AP’s at this time…

One error is actually created when CNUT tried to start AutoUpdate (of the SM’s), and the other error, like the OP logged, causes the webgui to hang up… Can only be rebooted via telnet (80% of the time)…

Happens on BOTH 8.2 and 8.2.1, and doesn’t care if it is a 900/2.4/5.2/5.7

As you can imagine, after spending 3 weeks updating to 8.2, then again to 8.2.1 on 4000+ devices, AFTER I got Moto’s blessing, I am not too thrilled…

I have sent all my event logs to support… Will let everyone know if I get a response this year…

Brian

Funny. That ticket number does not exist. Last time I had a problem I sent them an email. 2 hours later I get an email back from them with a ticket number that looked just like that. Next day I called to check on status and they said that ticket number was not one of theirs. They asked me to send the email with the problem again. Never heard back and on top of not acknowledging my problem, the new software release 8.2.1 claims to fix one of the issues I was having :x

How can I checkif the ticket number exists?

ANY word on this? I just saw this happen this morning. The wierd thing I had happen was I could not get to the GUI interface of the BH20 until I physically unplugged it and plugged it back in. then all seems well. Durning this time my ping times would be fine for 3-4 pings (8-12ms) and then for one ping only it would jump to 115+/-. then for 3-4 pings it would be 8-12ms… then again jump to 115+/- it was a pattern. as soon as I rebooted the BH the pings are now steady at 9-10ms.

We have had to send CNUT Gather Support tool dumps on AP’s affected. They (front line) didn’t believe us, and stated the same crap most have you heard - 8.2.1 fixed it… lol

They also completely ignored my email from 2 days ago because I didn’t have a ticket number… Apparently the fact we have almost 500 AP’s and 10000 SM’s means nothing…

Will keep you posted, as I now have a ticket #, and they have more data to make excuses about…

I have a topic here http://motorola.canopywireless.com/support/community/viewtopic.php?t=4478

it’s called errors on 5.7 link. I have had this problem for two months and have still heard no word. I called them for help or even an update- they said they are really busy, and basically not to hold my breath… :x

We’ll see how it goes.
