I have two SUBS connected to my house (AP). I’d like to add another SUB to my well house instead of paying $85/month for separate Internet service (my own personal RV park). Which SUBS can I add to this setup? Force 200?
What kind of AP (and is the antenna omni or directional?) you have will determine what kind of radios can connect to it. Also, how far is the well house from the AP and is it line of site and is that AP/Force 200 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz ?
SUBS I assume are subscribers ? So you have an AP and it currently has 2 client radios connected to it ? What are they ?
I’m using the Cambium Networks ePMP Force 180 Bridge-in-a-Box Plug-n-Play Outdoor Wireless Ethernet Bridge - Pre-paired Point-to-Point (PTP) link - 10 Mile Wireless Range - 5GHz - 200 Mbps. Its a flat panel, so directional and yes, there is line-of-sight and the well house is about 1/8 mile away (closer than the other two SUBS which are at least 1/4 mile away each).
Definitely you can buy one more F180/F200, reconfigure and use it as a PMP setup. Don’t forget to upgrade to 4.7.0.
you will have to change the config a bit, but yes you can. these BIAB sets come TDD-PTP and need to change to TDD on the AP. this will drop the link for a minute but is a fairly simple change and only needs to be done on the AP side.
The other thing to check/change is the WPA2 security key. the default key should be changed to something NOT default. This will have to be changed on all radios starting with the AP then each SM.
make sure all radios are running the same firmware revision, current is 4.7
