Adjust Max MCS Rates or not?

Is it advisable to adjust the max MCS rates for every client on an AP that has high retransmits or does leaving them all on the defaults work better?

If every client is adjusted to have minimal re-transmits will the AP have more capacity than leaving it default?

EPMP 1000, 2000 and 3000 5ghz.

This was recently discussed a bit in THIS post. IMHO, I’d do everything else possible to help increase the overall performance of the AP and SM’s before setting some or all of the SM’s to specific MCS rates. It’s just not a sustainable practice IMHO.
